For over 168 years, the Muscatine Fire Department has stood as a beacon of courage and service. What began as a volunteer bucket brigade in 1856 has evolved into a professional, full-time department — but the mission remains unchanged.

Based at 1100 Oregon Street, our firefighters and EMTs respond to thousands of calls each year, from structure fires and vehicle collisions to medical emergencies and natural water rescues along the Mississippi. We are neighbors first, firefighters second — the same people you see at the grocery store, at school events, and at community gatherings.
